The Doobie Brothers have a new album coming out on October 1st titled “Liberte”. You can pre-order it here. Their new single Don’t Ya Mess With Me is a warning when you heed these two verses;
“I’ve seen it on the TV Heard it on the radio All those things you’re sellin’ They really gotta go
The promises you’re makin’ Yeah you’re in and then you’re out Think about what you’re sayin’ Cause I’m not backin’ down”
It’s time for a change or else. The message is pretty clear. The song is anthemic in its own way. Musically this song is outstanding. This is good as anything they have ever done. The hooks and the harmonies are all there. You get a nice groove. I’m very happy they are putting a new album if its all in this vain. Good stuff here.
