Whitesnake has a new record coming out on June 19th titled “The Rock Album”. You can pre-order it here.It’s part of their thematic series “Red, White and Blues Trilogy”. Red is Love Songs, white is Rock Songs and blue is The Blues. The band states this series features revisited, remixed and remastered versions of the group’s best rock songs! I’m beginning to wonder if I should start an obituary section on the S.R,R. So many have died recently. Original bassist for The Sweet Steve Priest has died at the age of 72. Frontman Phil May of the Pretty Things passed away at the age of 75. He died from complications from hip surgery after his cycling accident. Little Richard has passed away at the age of 87. A founding father of rock n roll. Huge influence. Bob Kulick who has worked with Meat Loaf, KISS, and Lou Reed. Passed away at the age of 70. Astrid Kirchherr has died at the age of 87. She was the photographer for the The Beatles. She helped shape their image while they were in Germany in their earlier days. Former Bad Company singer Brian Howe has passed at the age of 66. Paul Chapman of UFO and Waysted fame, has passed at the age of 66. That is a lot of people who have died recently. All influential in some way all part of the rock family. They are all missed but not forgotten. May they all rest in peace.

Because this is so good I had to share it. Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante (Anthrax) and guitarist John 5 of Rob Zombie have teamed up with Trixter’s on bass and guitarist Joe McGinness of Kuarantineto do a cover ofKiss’sMr. Speed. Check it out below.

For the Kiss fans out there, the bands first road manager J. R. Smalling has passed away from bone cancer and was 68 years old. He was the voice on the band’s first live album that stated the bands famous opening “You wanted the best you got the best”. RIP Mr. Smalling.
