The late great Ronnie Montrose was working on his album “10×10”, which features 10 songs with 10 singers. Unfortunately, he didn’t see it’s release. But we have and when Montrose works with Hagar, it’s magic. It’s simple as that. Rounding out the lineup is drummer Eric Singer (Kiss), Ricky Phillips (Styx) on bass and Steve Lukather (Toto) on guitar. If you haven’t picked up the album you should because it’s a joy to listen to.
The new single Color Blind is a worthy single. I love the way, Hagar delivers a tune. The lyrics in this one are very deep, check out the following;
“I only know what I have learned, What I have learned from experience, What I figured out for myself, What makes you cry, What makes you high, What do you feel when you’re alone”
How can you not relate to that? The music and Hagar’s style of singing on this one are just what it needs. Lukather’s guitar solo just makes it that much sweeter. Trust me when I say you will play this one over and over again. I just hope these guys on this record actually tour and pay tribut to Montrose, now that would be special.
