Ronnie James Dio Gets A New Remix Of “Holy Diver” As A preview Of His Birthday Box Set!

Ronnie James Dio will be getting a deluxe birthday package release on July 8th (his birthday is July 10th, he would have been 80.) for his 1983 debut album “Holy Diver”. You can pre-order it here. The release is engineered by Joe Barresi (Tool, Judas Priest, to name two). Ahead of the release is the title track. This version comes in a bit longer than the original at 6:10. Everything on this remix is crisper and everyone stands out. In case you forgot who was with Dio on this album it was Vinnie Appice (Black Sabbath) on drums, Jimmy Bain (Rainbow) on bass and Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard) on guitar.

The clarity makes all the difference. The fact that Dio’s vocals are this clear makes it all that much better. This is a joy to listen to and am looking forward to the record with the rarities, remixes, live and unreleased material. The unfortunate thing is there is no video of them performing or in the studio like they do sometimes. You can check it out below.
