Rockucation Question This Week Of December 10th, 2023!

Last Week’s Rockucation Question:

This groupie story is witnessed by Carmine Appice as he was in the band Vanilla Fudge that was sharing the bill with the band in question. This was in 1969 at the Seattle Pops Festival. Frank Zappa even recorded a song about the incident. Both bands stayed at a hotel in Seattle that actually sat on the water, where some members and managers fished from their hotel balcony. This is where it gets interesting. The band in question supposedly used a fish caught that day to penetrate said groupie, among other things. Name the group and the type of fish that was used.

Answer:

Led Zeppelin, the mud shark incident.

Winners:

Michael Manning, Rutland, VT, Dave (Unrevealed), Tucson, AZ,  Maria (Unrevealed) Maryland,  Debbie Epstein, Sarasota, FL, Nina McCarthy, Westerly, RI and Jim Hagemeister, Blairsville, GA

This week’s Rockucation question is:

This rock guitarist from Gainesville, FL was in a big American band (until he was fired),  whose greatest hits album was the biggest seller at 38 times platinum. Duane Allman taught him to play slide guitar. He once taught Tom Petty how to play guitar. He also wrote a song for the animated film Heavy Metal in 1981. Who is the guitarist?

Do you think you know the answer to this music question? Take a guess by clicking the link above! If you answer it correctly, your name will be featured in next week’s Rockucation section. Please when responding give us your first and last name, and where you are from as an example John Doe, Atlanta, Georgia.
