Journey has a new live album coming out on May 19th titled “Journey Through Time”. You can pre-order it here. The live record was recorded on February 9th, 2018 at the Independent in San Francisco, CA. The second single is from their 1979 "Evolution" album, Just The Same Way. On this album you won't find the current lineup, this is a special lineup for the benefit they recorded. If you saw previous review of "Lights", the release before this one you will recall how amazed I am at the vocals of drummer Deen Castronovo. He doesn't disappoint here and if you closed your eyes you would think Steve Perry was there.
I will admit that I am always hear Gregg Rolie sing and play. No offense to Jonathan Cain, but I always preferred Rolie. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Neal Schon's guitar playing was on fire on this track. The video captures it perfectly. It also catches Castronovo reading a monitor for the lyrics. I get it but don't like seeing it. You can check it out below.
