KISS Release “Not For The Innocent” Demo!

KISS Will be releasing their 40th anniversary deluxe edition of their 1982 album “Creatures Of Night”. “Creatures Of Night 40” is due out November 18th, you can pre-order it here. Ahead of it’s release they give us the demo for Not For The Innocent. The song didn’t appear on the record, but later showed up on their 1983 album “Lick It Up”. Musically and lyrically, the song is close to the one on “Lick It Up”. The big surprise here, and I don’t want be the spoiler is that Gene Simmons trades off vocals with Paul Stanley. I actually find it refreshing and would have loved to see that on the finished version. This is one of those rare occasions that I like the demo. Stanley does some ad libbing near the end that wasn’t on the final version. Interesting to me is the parts that Stanley sang Simmons not only does he sing them in the final cut he also hits the notes the same way. To me, this is what ou look for in a demo. Something slightly different than the final cut. Overall, this one gets a thumbs up. We get no video, but just the stream of the track. That’s all you need for this one. Check it out below.
