Kenny Wayne Shepherd has a new album coming out November 17th titled "Dirt On My Diamonds Vol. 1". You can pre-order it here. Best Of Times is chelatest single from the forthcoming album. This one is about the working people making ends meet. I think the first verse sets it up nicely;
"Grandma standing in the welfare line
Mamma and daddy working overtime
Bills to pay and mouths to feed
Pullin both ends to make 'em meet"
If anything it is relatable. The rest of the lyrics paint that type of picture. I think you feel the angst in the words when both Shepherd and Noah Hunt exchange vocals. I really like the way the horns get used within this song. I think it adds an extra element to it. But of course Shepherd's licks and solo are well done. I like the cadence of the rhythm and how melodic the guitar solo is and how it jams out. The chorus is catchy and will hook in no time. The video puts the words to the song into action in between the performance of Shepherd's band playing the track. You can check it out below.
