Joe Bonamassa will be releasing a new deluxe album "Blues Deluxe Vol. 2". Out on October 6th, you can pre-order it here. The latest single from the forthcoming record is a cover of Guitar Slim's 1953 classic Well, I Done Got Over It. Bonamassa has modernized the song and sounds fresh for today. I like the fact he does this. Here he takes a 70 year old song and makes it like it's his. The idea that this pays homage to the original and gives a chance for his audience to discover artists from a long by gone era.
His version 30 seconds longer and that's the guitar solo that just really makes this track stand out. The one big difference with this versus the original is that the piano stands out, but not in this take. As a side note, the piano on the original was done by Ray Charles. It would be worth your time to look for that one and compare it. The video is very entertaining and features Robert Jon (Robert Jon And The Wreck) as the lead. the video is something you need to pay attention to. Unfortunately or not we are left with a cliff hanger with the "To be continued" aspect of it. It's nice to know that there will be more releases from it. Check it out below.
