Treat yourself don’t cheat yourself thinking you’re gonna go to school or work or whatever you “normally” do the next day. Oh and remember before you get high and never want to come down. “you can have anything you want but you better not take it from me!” This is Guns N’ Roses and when the time is right the stage will ignite. Looking forward to sharing that with rockers soon!
OK, I find this to be arrogant, and condescending. It’s rock and roll when you show up three hours late to a show that people paid to see, I don’t think so! Let me get this straight, fans buy the bands music, magazines, etc, pay their hard earned money to go support them live and the thanks they are going to get is, we don’t are about you and your life, we will come out when we feel like rocking. Guns and Roses doesn’t deserve the fans respect or support if that’s their attitude. Rock and roll isn’t about showing up late, most fans are forgiving and can tolerate some lateness, I have attended many shows where bands came on a hour or so late. But they were very apologetic and appreciated the fans for waiting (usually with a extra encore). But the line of “treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself “ is a double edged sword. Axl should know that the way he and the band treat the fans will cheat him in the end when there isn’t any support. At least that’s what I hope. Fans should not go to the show and maybe poor attendance will make them realize how special the fans are and how this current line up isn’t it.
The attitude here is unlike rock and roll. Without the fans support you have nothing. Really, no record sales, no merchandise sales and no ticket sales, means you have no following. I hope the band learns that lesson quick, more importantly, Axl Rose should become respectful of the fans, otherwise he will be playing clubs again unless the real band reunites. In his world he may not have any responsibilities, but those who support him do and for him to state that you shouldn’t worry about them because if you want to rock you have to wait for them to take the stage at various hours of the day is crazy. By showtime most fans already put in a full days work and want to be home at somewhat decent time to start the next day, this arrogance should have a price, and empty arenas would send that message.
I think I make my point clear, Guns and Roses, mostly Axl is a selfish bunch, that really don’t care about their fan base, it’s all about them. So I say to you, don’t attend and let the chips fall where they may. Let Axl find out the hard way that Anything Goes in rock and roll. All we need is a little Patience to make the point.
