Eric Clapton has a new vinyl box set on September 30th titled “The Complete Reprise Studio Albums – Volume 1”. You can pre-order it here. According to his site the collection spans 15 years with remastered versions of Clapton’s first six solo studio albums with Reprise, along with an additional LP of rarities. One of the rarities and previously unreleased tracks Clapton’s version of Albert King’s Born Under A Bad Sign.
I’m disappointed that we had to wait so long to hear this track. This is exactly how I like my Clapton. Blues rock style with cool licks and riffs. Energetic vocals and a great interpretation of King’s classic tune. To be honest, I found this release refreshing. I wish we could see him playing the track, but I’ll take the audio. Check it out below.
